Life’s Ladder

So many rungs on the ladder of this lifetime. Some are sturdy, some are crooked, some are cracked. Whether we get one step up or ten is left to the will of a higher power.
As we creep to the end of our rungs we still look behind us. The good the bad and the ugly seared in our consciousness. Hopefully, we have smiled more than we have cried.
If climbing our life ladder seems as if we are climbing Mount Rushmore, stop and take a deep breath, take in sunshine and smell the flowers.
When all is said and done, hopefully we have left our footprint on a couple rungs.
