Silk Sheets

First of all, let me clarify at the beginning this is not a romantic story.

I have been dealing with some health issues that make it hard for me to get in and out of bed.

I purchased a new bed when I moved into a retirement community so, of course, I needed new sheets to fit the bed.

I perused Amazon online and found what I thought was a nice set of dark green cotton sheets.

They arrived a few days later.  As I opened them, they didn’t feel like cotton sheets to me.  I proceeded to put them on the bed anyway.

Later that night, with my difficulty getting into bed I carefully swung my legs together onto the bed.  Much to my surprise I slid right off the bed.  Thankfully there was a guardrail to stop my fall.

I realized the sheets were not cotton but silk!  I took them off promptly but very slowly and put another sheet I had on the bed.

The next day, I perused Amazon again and ordered a second pair of sheets.   I was sure I got it right this time.

Well, they arrived and I opened them up.

Guess what I found?  They were once again slippery silky sheets.  This was getting to be an expensive proposition.

I decided I couldn’t loose with flannel.  They might be warm but not slippery

I once again ordered them on Amazon

When I opened the package I was pleasantly surprised  the weren’t slippery.

I put them on the bed, which fitted sheets are a pain in the butt to put on!

I got into bed that night and didn’t slip off the bed!  The sheets even felt kind of cozy.

My warning to all seniors is do not buy silk sheets after seventy - you could end up like I did on the floor after sliding out of bed!  Protect yourself from that broken hip!
