Autumn River Leaves

Someone said to me “This is real life”

The person was a third of my age. My response to her:

I’ve lost my entire family, some to very difficult passings - starvation and all.
My daughter is critically ill for the past two years
A daughter moved to Florida
There’s also a rollover accident with the jaws of life being used.

I’m sure that might not mean much to young people... but

Yes, I’m angry!
If life were anymore “real” I wouldn’t be here!

I am aging which is a universal event but I will say “it’s not for wimps!"

  • Pain is a constant companion.

  • You try pain medication.

  • You try it but it’s harder to get than to win the lottery.

  • My friends are aging too, they are the gold leaf in my life.

My first love is God who created me and stands with me until Jesus takes me home.

  • If I won the greatest prize in this world it would be my three children - our family unit walked a bumpy road but we made it.

  • They are hardworking, loving, cherished adults.

  • I’m not asking for pity, I’m asking for the next generation to understand.

  • This is real life and I know it!

I write this from my senior scooter.
